These vitamins have a large amount of folic acid which helps to preserve and protect the brain. Resent studies have shown that men who are deficient in folic acid have a much faster decline of memory than those who have adequate supplies within the body.
There have been many studies that show that cruciferous vegetables can adequately protect memory. Those who eat vegetables regularly have less age-related decline in memory, and leafy greens such as broccoli and spinach help to retain memory the best.
Phytochemicals are natural compounds found in all fruits, and are the reason for each fruit’s color and bright hue. Each fruit has more than 100 phytochemicals compacted into it, and they serve as antioxidants that restore the body’s natural healing properties; this goes for the neurons within the brain as well. Consuming fruit like strawberries helps to guard against oxidative stress. With a good amount of blood flow, the brain is able to properly function, meaning memory is at full strength.
